Job Description:

Our multi-skilled workforce based on site uses purpose built facilities to assist on a range of services including storage, assembly, maintenance, test, distribution and in-service support of Spearfish torpedoes, Storm shadow, Brimstone and ALARM.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join the dynamic DE&S in-service support team and assist with the management of engineering capability for in-service torpedo systems.

You will play a vital role in the delivery of cutting-edge technology and ensuring the successful delivery of safe and effective capability to the Royal Navy.

Please be advised that, due to the nature of security, these roles are reserved for sole UK nationals only.
* Carry out technical investigations and provide summary reports on the findings to higher management
* Support the delivery of all engineering aspects as defined in the assignment specification including managing the acquisition and in-service system safety aspects
* Provide expert advice and guidance to solve complex technical problems and identify application risks
* Assist management of the technical requirements for the in-service support stage of one or more projects, programmes, services or systems
* Monitor and implement any governance and assurance policies and procedures to ensure the 'safe & professional' status of the area led
* Support the development of requirements including acceptance plans, performance criteria, design configuration management, safety and design concessions and draft specifications
* Interface with the industry as an intelligent customer both in a scrutiny role and supporting the identification of application risks

What you will be assessed against

To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

* Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of successful engineering outcomes
* Some technical experience within an ordinance munitions explosives or complex engineering systems/safety critical environment with knowledge and application of Systems Engineering approaches

It will also benefit your application if you are able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

* Professional Registered status or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
* Relevant Level 4 (or higher) qualification or equivalent experience

In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
