Salary of a Mechanical Design Engineer

£35,000 - £40,000

Job Description of a Mechanical Design Engineer

• Design of products from concept using 3D CAD packages.
• Concept development, specification development & design development of products.
• Carry out and partake in FMEA activities in both the product design and production engineering functions.
• Maintain records for verification and traceability purposes on product designs.

Skills & experience of a Mechanical Design Engineer

• Minimum of 1 years industry experience as a Design Engineer.
• Degree or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
• Mechatronics or electronic bias is an advantage.
• 3D CAD experience, ideally using CREO or Solidworks.
• The successful applicant must be able to manage own projects to timescales and plans.
• Be familiar with all aspects of the R & D function including CAD design, documentation, test and build, prototyping and setting up test strategies
• A willingness to learn and develop with a genuine enthusiasm for engineering.
