Quality Engineer
Would you like to support our team will all aspects of quality within a busy manufacturing site? We currently have a contact vacancy from 1st Jan to 31st Aug 2022 for a Quality Engineer at our site in Radway Green, Cheshire.
As a Quality Engineer, you will be ensuring operational compliance to specifications and quality standards. You will drive and support with continuous improvement activities within a busy manufacturing site focused on high volume manufacturing. You will also support resolution of quality issues, support audit processes and external audits as required.
This role will provide you with the ability to challenge and develop yourself in a broad and dynamic role in a busy manufacturing site. You will develop your skills and become a subject matter expert for the wider engineering team as well as other stakeholders across the site.
Your main responsibilities as a Quality Engineer will involve:
Reviewing Shop Floor records (e.g. 'SMDCP' documents), 'First Off' items for Quality Dept. approval, technical specifications, drawings, and endorse Certificates of Conformity as an approved signatory.
Performing Internal Audits, supporting External Audits, and supporting the development of audit responses and robust corrective actions which prevent identified problems from ever happening again.
Monitoring and analysing reject, rework, and RFT data, and present information to management
Monitoring and supporting non-conformance / quality issue management ('CAR', 'Q1', 'Q2', 'Q3', etc.)
Driving and supporting targeted CI (Continuous Improvement) activities, focussing on reduced rejects and cost & improved operational workflows, throughput and efficiency
Continually improving your own understanding of lean manufacturing methods, and core tools (including but not limited to: VSM, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Six Sigma, TOC, MS Excel, Minitab…) and also encouraging and assisting in continually improving the knowledge of others across Land UK.
Assisting with product acceptance testing in compliance with customer requirements, interfacing with customer GQAR and representatives
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:
Recognised 4 year Engineering apprenticeship combined with HNC, HND OR Engineering degree
Experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
Desirable:
Experience of working in a quality function
Working towards a chartership or equivalent
