System Requirements Manager - UK Merlin

OVERVIEW
This role is concerned with the delivery of the requirements management function in support of the UK Merlin. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Project Engineer (DCPE) EH101/AW101, the Project Engineer will be required to support the execution of the engineering responsibilities associated with the UK Merlin and the delivery of engineering products in support of contract milestones.
KEY RESPONSIBILIES, AUTHORITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES (RAA)
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Project Engineer (DCPE) EH101/AW101, the Requirements Manager shall be responsible for the following activities.
· Perform the role of Requirements Manager in support of UK Merlin engineering activities.
· Provide expertise for the administration of requirements management toolsets (IBM Rationale ('DOORS') using DOORS Extension Language (.dxl) as required.
· Support engineering activities in accordance with the schedule that meets the overall performance requirements for the programme within the company operating system process requirements.
· Support the creation of Engineering Proposals (EPs) through the flow down of technical requirements to sub-system teams.
· Lead discussions in key technical reviews to allow agreements to be reached on requirements, performance and contractual points.
· Support System Requirements Reviews (SRR) for modifications.
· Support Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) for modifications.
· Support Critical Design Reviews (CDR) for modifications.
· Support the correlation of test and qualification reports and provide the DCPE with the qualification and certification evidence to support the programme.
· Understand contractual and certification requirements of the customers and the certifying authorities, and to assist in the definition and management of the engineering activities required to meet these requirements.
· Ensure that the relevant specifications and documentation supporting the systems engineering process are prepared and maintained.
· Provide a working level technical interface with internal customers (Programme Management, Operations, Production Engineering, etc.). ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of five years' experience.
· Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND with apprenticeship or equivalent in an engineering business sector.
· Detailed knowledge of IBM Rationale ('DOORS') application for requirements management and tracking.
· Detailed knowledge of DOORS Extension Language (.dxl) and its application during the management of specifications.
· Knowledge of EASA CS-29 Large Rotorcraft is desirable.
· Knowledge of Def Stan 00-970 is desirable.
· Ability to remain flexible and resourceful in challenging situations.
· Ability to represent the company with external customers as required.
