Lamonby Recruitment are currently working with a national leading electronic manufacturer who are currently searching for a Buyer to join their team!
The Buyer will be responsible for the procurement of materials based at our clients’ branch near Stoke, as well as purchasing raw materials, negotiating internationally with suppliers, driving down overhead costs as well as a bit of production planning.
Our client is looking for someone with a minimum of 2 years’ purchasing experience as a minimum, who is ideally from an Electrical Engineering background. A relevant qualification such as CIPS is desired. In return our client is looking to offer a package of £23,000 - £28,000 depending on experience.
The successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills and be responsible for ensuring our client gets the best deal possible when purchasing objects and materials. They will be good at building and maintaining working relationships. Other responsibilities include:
Support Senior Buyer in procurement of materials.
Formulate, issue, receive and review tenders.
Negotiate prices and terms and conditions of order.
Managing materials procurement for own sites including issue and maintenance of Procurement Schedules
Chair, scope and review meetings with supply chain and project operations/commercial team.
Identify items of financial / contractual implications and respond appropriately.
Attend site meetings as required.
Support invoice query resolution
Ensure regular communications and development of supplier relationships.
Role Requirements and Qualifications
2 years’ purchasing industry experience.
CIPS preferred but not essential.
Excellent communicator – both oral and written.
Excellent IT skills - including use of procurement systems
Committed and pro-active with adherence to quality.
Able to work to deadlines.
