Managing of a team of engineering SME's delivering Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, Electrical Engineering and Field Engineering capability across Air Defence & Electronic Warfare Systems (ADEWS), spreading into Integrated Battlespace Operating Centre (IBOC) teams including Strategic Air Command (SAC) and Marshall. At present the team comprises: 2 Civilian Technicians, 1 Royal Air Force TG5 Flight Sergeant, and 2 Royal Air Force TG5 Chief technicians. You will be joining the team as a Mechanical Engineer.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be entrusted with:
* Large ground based Radome systems
* HF curtain antenna systems
* Guyed masts and Towers
* Designed and used Lifting Equipment
* Developed and implemented a broad range of SSOW for the Equipment types listed
* The aptitude to comprehend whether the safety of equipment's may be compromised and developed remedies
* The aptitude to recognise when a higher level of specialist is essential in resolving safety matters.
* Managed Equipment safety, or supported others in doing so
* The ability to use CAD for mechanical and field engineering designs
* A working knowledge of standards used in the design of the listed Equipment types
* Practitioner knowledge of PUWER, LOLER, WAH Regs

What you will be assessed against

To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:

* A relevant Level 4 Mechanical Engineering qualification, which includes a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
* Experience of providing technical advice and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomes.
* Wide ranging depth and breadth of Mechanical Design experience and competency, related to the key responsibilities listed.
* Experience with PUWER, LOLER, WAH and CDM regulations.

If the outcome of the review results in an increase in the minimum salary and your salary offer falls below the new minimum, your salary will be increased to the new amount from your contracted start date. If the new minimum is less than the salary you are offered, the original salary offer will be retained.
