Job Description:
To provide technical/engineering knowledge/ability and provide technical support in the analysis, repair, review and inspection of crane, lifting equipment and mechanical handling systems in order to fulfil customer's requirements and comply with associated codes, standards and regulations.
To work with the management team in developing additional business linked to crane and mechanical handling repair, inspection and refurbishment activities.
To provide inspections services under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment regulations and all applicable defence and marine policies.
To undertake inspection using non-destructive testing techniques, when trained
To support the Technical/Service Manager in the delivery of all projects related to Crane, Maintenance, Repair and Refurbishment (CMMR) activities, including:
- Planning, arranging and project managing all CMMR activities, where there is a requirement to do so.
- Providing direction, guidance and technical knowledge to the CMRR team
- Visiting clients/client's sites to discuss technical requirements of the CMRR work and provide solutions to client requirements
- Develop technical quotes for clients for all CMRR work
Knowledge/Skills
Essential/Required
- Minimum HNC in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline, or equivalent
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Must be able to demonstrate a technical knowledge of lifting equipment within an operating environment.
- Hold structured training qualifications in the field of lifting equipment inspection (LEEA or equivalent)
- Significant previous experience in general lifting equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good report writing skills.
- Able to work as part of a team
- Proven ability to carry out tasks within authorisations
- Current valid driving license
- Current valid passport
This role and my client will offer a strong development path into NDT and lifting inspection
Salary - £37,000
40hrs per week
O/T +40hrs weekdays and Saturday @ 1.5 x time, Sunday 2 x time
The on call element will equate to between £3K-£4.5K pa
