Product Owner

£70,000 - £80,000

London – Hybrid

We are working with a Financial Start Up and they are looking to add a Product Owner to their current development team. 

The ideal candidate would have experience working in a fast-paced start-up capital markets environment on real-time applications, working with cross functional teams to deliver features and functionality of our product.

You will have an entrepreneurial mind set, with a drive to take on challenges and real passion for communicating with key stakeholders to help define and mange the product development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the UK based project team and stakeholders to help define and manage the product
• Oversee the delivery of the product, working with the Solutions Architects to ensure that the teams are resourced effectively and have the appropriate skills, processes, and tools to manage risks and deliver to agreed success criteria and timelines
• Elicit requirements from the business to identify future epics and user stories
• Work with business analysts to define user stories and acceptance criteria
• Work with design team to create prototypes
• Attend review and planning meetings with the development and QA teams to discuss product deliverables
• Develop a strong partnership with the Solutions Architect to deliver high quality products, features, enhancements, and fixes at pace
• Ensure the right balance is struck between developing new features, resolving technical debt and fixing defects
• Provide support and training to operations for new functions
• Stakeholder engagement and project reporting to ensure that expectations and risks are managed effectively
• Have a flexible mindset to assume any role to get a job done

Key Skills

• You operate at a strategic level, but are hands-on and roll up your sleeves in day-to-day work (writing detailed requirements, internal documentation or investigating the technical nature of issues)
• You have the skills, knowledge, and technical background to gain the respect of both Product Management and Engineering teams
• You have the gravitas to influence stakeholders and inspire your team
• You are a team player and able to work well across the organisation
• You have previously led Product teams in a fast-paced financial environment
• You are entrepreneurial and have a positive ‘get it done’ attitude
• You are commercially aware, and customer focused
• Experience with capital markets and trading software
• Seeks and values data in decision making
• Highly analytical, flexible and a creative problem solver
• Strong knowledge and experience of product development and management principles, Agile methodologies, user-based testing, UX and IA
• Knowledge of the Atlassian suite and how to use it most effectively to drive and enhance management of processes
