Job Summary

The Receiving Inspector will be based at the companies Luton site serving both their Civil & Defence business lines and reporting to Logistics Team Leader whilst assuming responsibility for the verification of incoming product characteristics, traceability data, batch documentation and other quality records. The incumbent will utilise a range of inspection techniques and methods including, but not limited to visual, mechanicals, automated, contact and non-contact and this responsibility will be discharged under the authority delegated by quality.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a safety-first mind-set ensuring that the comapanies Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are followed
  • Perform inspection processes as described by receiving work instructions and/or other directions defined by the site Quality System
  • Prepare Tags for Escapes found at receiving communicating with Suppliers as necessary
  • Support Scrum process on Supplier Tags and escapes found at Operations and/or customers
  • Perform first article inspections in line with site operating policies, procedures and work instructions defined by the site Quality System
  • Analyze and communicate supplier quality performance identifying improvement areas
  • Execute customer and regulatory delegated inspection processes as authorized by those parties
  • Maintain delegated authorities once granted
  • Support root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances including supplier audits where appropriate
  • Maintain positive team relationships with internal and external customers as well as co-workers
  • Support continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives

Essential:

  • Manual Handling trained
  • 1/5 years experience gained from a receiving or dispatching deliveries role
  • Experience of inspection methods including expiry dates, material quality checks and batch matching
  • Experience of Manual Handling

Desirable:

  • Counterbalance Forklift certification
  • Relevant experience gained from a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of Lean Manufacturing processes and practices
  • Experience of working to ISO 9001
  • Experience of working with hazardous goods
