Summary

To lead delivery of a portfolio of commercial activities aligned to category plans and HMRC objectives. To work collaboratively and provide professional commercial leadership to business customers and commercial colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Supporting commercial leaders to manage and deliver their category plans and the pipeline of procurement activity.

• Developing an understanding of supply market trends, leading practices and relevant innovation for your allocated category.

• Developing and designing sourcing events so that HMRC can optimise the value in the competitive marketplace.

• Supporting delivery against the sourcing pipeline through early engagement with Lines of Business and advise/guide the business in the development of ‘fit for purpose’ specifications.

• Engaging effectively with the market to inform current or future procurement strategies.

• Supporting leaders in developing negotiation strategies and seeking optimum routes to market to deliver the required commercial outcomes and improved value.

• Identifying, building and maintaining stakeholder relationships to support delivery of effective pipeline planning and inform future commercial strategies.

• Building knowledge and expertise in commercial methods, procurement routes and government frameworks relevant to your allocated category.

 

Essential criteria:

• Significant relevant procurement and commercial experience.

• Good knowledge of procurement processes and the commercial life cycle.

• Strong digital skills across a wide range of platforms.


Desirable Criteria

• MCIPS or equivalent qualification.
