Greentech Data Engineer

Expired

Job Description:

Role: GreenTech Data Engineer

Location: Stamford, 2 days office / 3 days remote

Salary: £30K - £40K.

Building reliable and easy to use data solutions is critical for any business in 2022 that’s looking to address large scale problems.

The ability to show your customers, colleagues and clients visualisations that demonstrate a point or provide clarity, makes conversations easier to have and confidence easier to win.

This role essentially focused on developing their data management systems. So, while a great understanding of data and SQL / T-SQL is essential, so is experience with C# .Net, as you’ll contribute to new data-related features, warehousing, data cleansing and consolidation, automation and more.

It’d be ideal if you’ve tested the solutions you’ve built, as you’ll be expected to run not only unit tests but some integration and functionality tests, too.

You will communicate with pretty varied groups, potentially worldwide. The food & beverage sector encompasses a lot of people from logistics and transport of goods, to the retailers, storage and cooling, and everything associated with growing or rearing food products.

Therefore, the potential uses of data here also vary a lot and consultants will need to extract difference purposes and values from data.

It’d be ideal if you like building common ground and understanding how data solutions can best aid the goals of those you’ll support and work with.

Some nice-to-haves cover the industry, so any familiarity with the agriculture sector, carbon or environmental sciences and climate change more broadly would be cool.

In terms of culture, this company are rolling their services out to their sister companies around the world and existing customers. They have 130+ offices global, and currently offer services across about 35 of them.

So it’s a pretty fast paced environment where everyone is bought-in to delivering on their tasks and also helping others around them to do so, whether that be providing documentation support or quick answers for colleagues adapting services or products to new languages and markets.

Because of the nature of how they’re growing, there will be opportunities to side-step into other roles or take on hybrid responsibilities in assisting other departments, so if longer-term you’d like to be more technical, you’ll be able to work closely with developers. If you find the sustainability and carbon side very interesting, you’ll be able to collaborate with those consultants and project managers.

Please reach out, especially if addressing climate issues is something you’re passionate about!
