A small, welcoming primary school in New Cross are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis from September. The role

In this role you will be supporting two boys who will be joining the school in their reception class. Both boys have a diagnosis of autism and have SEMH and behavioural needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and senior leadership in the school to support the boys to settle in to school and provide ongoing support within the classroom and in all activities within the school day. You will be involved in observations and reporting and work closely with the SENCO on reviews and assessments according to their needs. One boy in particular, has a tendency to lash out and therefore you need to have a calm and resilient attitude. Previous experience supporting young children with behavioural needs is preferred.

This role is offered on a full-time basis from 8.30am - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday until July 2023.

This 1 form-entry primary school is based in a vibrant area of New Cross. There is a strong community feel and the school is well supported by parents. The school has a Christian ethos which is celebrated and incorporated in to the daily life of the school. There is an experienced senior leadership team in place and there is good support for staff to develop their skills via professional development.
