Job Title: IT Security Engineer

Location: Nottingham (HYBRID)

Salary: £50,000.00 Plus Bonus

We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Security Engineer to be involved in protecting our clients IT infrastructure from malicious attacks. This exciting new role means you will act as the primary escalation point for all IT-related information security events. Providing expertise in information security, technical compliance, IT audits & risk management whilst supporting best practices including ISO 27001.

You will be involved in the following: 

• Identification, prevention and protection of cyber risks and events
• Planning for disaster recovery and create contingency plans in the event of any security breach
• Research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them
• Collaborating with the Information Security Manager on managing the monthly/quarterly Penetration & Vulnerability testing result
• Identify potential weaknesses and implement measures, such as firewalls and encryption
• Keep up to date with the latest security and technological developments
• Ensure that IT information security policies & documentation is complete and is regularly reviewed and maintained

Experience: 

• Strong knowledge of Information Security principles and best practices including ISO 27001
• Comprehensive understanding and technical knowledge of mainstream operating systems and security technologies.
• Good working knowledge of various security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus
• Understanding of the cyber security risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them
• IP Network architecture and technology experience, including private/public cloud.

Desirable:

• Any applicable qualifications would be beneficial, or self-study is advantageous (but not essential) such as CCNP, CCNA, Cyber Essentials, CompTia Security+ (or equivalent)
• Framework experience such as ISO27001, PCI DSS, GDPR
• Working experience (configuration & administration) of VLANs, NPS, Mimecast, Tessian, Zscaler and EDR solutions would be beneficial
