Data Architect – Life & Pensions
Experienced Data Architect is required by a Life & Pensions organisation that are growing through acquisition. We are looking for an experienced and engaging Data Architect with proven experience in architecting and implementing Business Intelligence and Data warehouse platforms, Master data Management, data integration and OLTP database solutions.
The programme of work comprises 8 projects of varying complexity delivering a new life insurance and annuities platform. In addition to the migration of the data from the legacy systems, the new platform needs to integrate with existing and new systems.
Role Deliverables include:
- Development of an enterprise-wide Data Strategy to support delivery of corporate objectives
- Establish yourself as a key player and advisor in all new strategic data initiatives
- Build a framework of principles to ensure data integrity across the business
- ERP, CRM, BI, Data Warehouse, external interfaces etc
- Responsibility for creation of Enterprise Architecture artefacts including:
- Entity Relationship Models, Data dictionary, taxonomy
- Support third party data suppliers to ensure congruence with Enterprise data architecture
- Data Governance practices and standard
- Promotion of data security principles and ensure appropriate practices are embedded in data strategy
Experience & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices around data architecture in both cloud based and on premise solutions
- Data Engineering best practice
- RDBMS, NoSQL, Cache & In-memory stores
- Architecting data solution across hybrid (cloud, on premise) data platforms
- data warehousing and data transformation (extract, transform and load) processes, OLAP processing and tabular models
- SSRS and Power BI
- Data Science tools (e.g., Python, R) and an understanding of machine learning
- Big data tools (e.g. Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, MongoDB)
- Excellent problem solving and data modelling skills (logical, physical, sematic and integration models) including; normalisation, OLAP / OLTP principles and entity relationship analysis
