Job Description:

Profectus Recruitment is working with a Global Manufacturing and Engineering organisation who is hiring for a permanent Service Engineer to join their existing team on a permanent basis. This role will be based out of their Milton Keynes office.

As a Service Engineer you alongside the team will be responsible for service and support for the client’s range of portable hardware products. You will also be required to service, repair and calibrate products.

Technical Skills Required;

  • Strong Service implementation skills
  • Good working knowledge of service utilities and Hardware or Medical or Manufacturing products
  • Relevant electro-mechanical /Electronic service or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Good knowledge of generalised service requirements

Role Responsibilities;

  • Perform routine servicing, calibrations, repairs, and installations to the manufacture’s specifications
  • Undertake onsite service and calibration working within customers and clients Health and safety guidelines
  • Carry out fault diagnosis to module or component level and provide a written report with faults and list of part need for repair
  • Maintaining updating Trackweb and instrument records on server for every job
  • Conducts self and strives to demonstrate the clients’ values
  • Communication with customers throughout activity to ensure they are made aware of timing preparations and progress and completion hand over of service activities. (This may include notifying a customer of your planned arrival time on site).
  • Ensuring that all Service Activity exceeds customer’s expectations.
  • Conduct rigorous fault-finding processes.
  • Repair inoperative System as quickly as possible, ensuring optimum levels of repair quality, on customer site.
  • Liaising with factory engineers for technical information and / or support.
  • Continually develops and improves technical competence by attending factory training courses as required by the company, sharing knowledge gained with fellow engineers.
  • Maintenance of core skills and development of new product knowledge, ensuring this is transferred into the workplace.
  • Applies breadth of experience, understanding of theory, method or models and best practice to resolve operational problems.
  • Use of ERP systems for your day-to-day tasks
  • Timely reporting of activity, timesheets, and expenses in line with company guidance and handbook
  • Drives to achieve deadlines and demonstrates tenacity to get the job done.
  • Takes personal ownership to remove barriers to achieving timely reporting.
  • Compliance with workplace quality and health and safety requirements and directions both when working in House or on customers sites and those that applies to the client
  • Conducts self and strives to demonstrate the clients’ values
  • Additional duties may be assigned from time to time

 

The team which sits part of a global organisation has a family feel however. The team is built up of 6 other engineers who all work closely together in a timely manner.
