Role: Health and Safety Manager – Packaging industry

Salary: £35K - £40K + Package

Location: North Cambridge

My client are a leading Packaging manufacturer who are looking to bring in an experienced Health

and Safety Manager who has worked within the Packaging field.

They specialise within Corrugated Packaging and due to growth now have the need to bring in a

Health and Safety expert to lead this area of the business.

Responsibilities:

1. Advising on hazardous materials and waste management issues.
2. Supporting on-site visitors and contractors.
3. Inducting any new employees, visitors and contractors on the Health and Safety systems.
4. Reviewing safe systems of the work place and carry out inspections to identify any equipment that is not safe, also inspections of the working conditions, practices, fire hazards and produce reports and recommendations on how to correct and problems.
5. Preparing health and safety strategies and developing policies;
6. Carrying out safety audits when required.
7. Conducting and completing various Health and Safety assessments, such as DSE, COSHH and risk assessments.
8. Ensuring fire safety audits are completed.
9. Managing accident and incident reports / investigations and any associated paper work.
10. To communicate effectively with the directors and the management team on any H&S concerns raised.
11. Reporting of H&S KPI’s, weekly and monthly.
12. Occasionally there will be a requirement to work extra hours to meet deadlines.
