Connecting Talent to opportunity

GreenTech UI/UX Designer

Expired

Job Description:

Role: Green Tech UIUX Designer

Location: Mostly remote UK, Cambridge office

Package: Up to £38K + 12% pension, healthcare and life insurance.

How we design websites and products directly affects how people interact with them and how they feel about an experience.

Graphics and visuals, layout, button location and colour schemes, consideration of typography all play a part and you could play a big role in improving our natural world.

We’re working with an organisation tackling biodiversity collapse. They achieve this in many ways, from raising awareness with informative websites and digital campaigns, to maintaining scientific databases and building web products which store and present complex scientific information.

They have partners all over the world and projects vary from single static websites to share data securely, through to largescale climate risk assessment tools helping governments to measure impacts on biodiversity and inform policy.

They’re looking for someone with a real passion for design and a strong understanding of fundamentals, accessibility, usability and clean designs.

There’ll be lots of support in advancing your skills but they really need someone independent with good initiative, as it’s a busy environment where you’ll have numerous projects on the go at once, similar to an agency environment.

They work heavily with scientific data, visualisations and dashboards, so experience in those areas will really stand out, but the main thing here is being passionate about protecting and enhancing nature, as that will be the context of most interactions you have here.

They use Figma and Adobe Illustrator, but Photoshop exp would be great too. They aren’t picky about previous industry or tools used, so long as you have a great eye for detail. Things like wonky margins or errors in your portfolio will be noticed.

The size of the team will continue to grow as it has over the last 2 years in line with the gravity of the challenge facing nature at the hands of human activity.

You’ll do things like create wire frames, mockups and prototypes, improve accessibility and how users navigate the solutions built, making UX more intuitive. You’ll influence functional design and style guides while working to understand user insights to remove pain points.

In doing the above, you’ll truly make our world a better place, helping countless people and communities along the way, enhancing our chances of overcoming the climate crisis.
