A Specialist SEND school in Wallington are looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to teach a KS2/KS3 class.

The Role

In this role you will teaching a class of 6 pupils all of whom have profound and multiple learning disabilities and severe learning disabilities. Pupils are working at a similar level within KS2/KS3. You will be responsible for planning and preparing suitable learning activities and overseeing progress reporting. You will work closely with the internal team of Speech and Language therapists, Drama therapist and Occupational therapists within the school. You will have support from senior leadership and access to regular CPD training.

This role is offered on a contract basis until the end of the academic year.

This Specialist SEND school offers children with profound and multiple learning difficulties a specialist learning environment and all the support they require to make progress. A key focus of their curriculum is to provide learning experiences that will develop the whole child / young person to be as independent as possible, gain skills and knowledge that will prepare them for adulthood and an enriching life. All children attending the school have an Education Health and Care Plan and have a number of dedicated professionals working with them in order to support them to reach their potential. The school uses a trans-disciplinary approach and places a great emphasis on supporting pupils to feel safe, well and emotionally regulated in order that they can achieve their best. The school includes a sensory room, soft play room, occupational therapy room and indoor and outdoor play areas.  The unit has its own mini-bus for offsite learning opportunities.

• Qualified Teacher Status / Extensive Teaching Experience in SEND
• Experience working with pupils with PMLD/SLD
