James Adams is currently looking for an experienced Energy industry Software Project Manager. This is a 6 month contract inside IR35 working 1 day per week in Milton Keynes 4 days from home. Experience working in end to end software projects to launch is essential. We are looking for a PM from medium sized software projects with energy industry experience key for the role. 

 

YOUR PART IN THE TEAM 

Accountabilities include: 

  • Manage a variety of projects delivering technology, process, and business change outcomes to the B2B business
  • Co-ordinate activities to define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Deliver project outcomes to meet the defined success criteria of time, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Close liaison with Business Analysts and Testers to ensure effective communications across teams and embed best practice ways of working
  • Develop project plans to identify project tasks, deliverables, milestones, and resourcing requirements
  • Manage project stakeholders using communication plans, regular project review boards and other forms of status reporting
  • Build and manage hybrid project teams consisting of internal and third-party resources to deliver agreed outcomes and benefits
  • Effective project level risk and issue management, understanding all dependencies and managing impacts
  • Focus on realising beneficial change using business cases and benefits management techniques to drive ROI
  • Financial management of project budget including tracking and forecasting spend, accruals and budget estimation
  • Management of projects in line with project delivery methodology and standards

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HELP YOU MAKE THE BEST OF THE ROLE 

  • Project management certification e.g. PMP, APMP, APMPQ, CPM, Prince2 or equivalent preferred
  • Proven project manager competences and demonstrable knowledge of project management principles, tools and techniques leading to successful project delivery
  • Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Ability to work within a framework of project delivery and quality gate acceptance processes within a fast paced, agile business environment
  • Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement, assertiveness
  • Excellent oral and written communication as well as excellent presentation skills with the ability to conduct presentations comfortably to large groups
