Over recent years, video interviews have been a growing trend for recruiters looking to streamline the selection process, maximise innovation and influence hiring managers….
Getting a job interview means you are one step closer to getting your dream job.
Interviews can be a nerve-wracking experience, so doing a bit of research into the company and considering potential interview questions can help you feel more prepared.
Here are a few ways you can prepare yourself:
Questions about you
Talking about yourself can be easy or it can be difficult, depending on what sort of person you are
Interviewers will usually ask questions about yourself to gain a better understanding of your personality, your skills and experiences and how well they think you’d fit into their company. Spend some time before the interview thinking about why you want the job, what your strengths and weaknesses are and what you did in your previous job roles.
Research the company
Knowing as much as you can about the company is in your best interest. Show that you are keen on the job role and the company. Being prepared for questions such as ‘why do you want to work here?’ and ‘what interests you about the company’ will give you those extra brownie points from the interviewer when you can answer correctly because you’ve done your research.
Be prepared ahead of time
With knowing that you are already going to be stressed and nervous about the interview, make sure you prepare what you need the night before. This can make the interview day less stressful. So this means getting your outfit ready to go. Also making sure that all things that you require for the interview are packed and ready.
Plan the journey
Lateness will not make you look good. You don’t want the interviewer to think this is what you do on a daily basis. Plan your journey time and make sure you’re at least 10 minutes early.
Preparation for the interview will minimise your stress levels. Just remember that in the interview you are not just there to impress the interviewer, but they are also there to impress you. Decide in the interview if this job is actually for you and if you can see yourself working for that company.
