Searching and applying for a new job can be just as demanding as a full-time job itself. However, getting the right job is crucial…
A cover letter is great with assisting your efforts in targeting the specific job role you are applying for. Your cover letter allows you to highlight and go into depth about the areas that your CV briefly states, but it also allows you to inject some personality into your application. By submitting a cover letter with your CV it gives the employer something more to look at.
What should a cover letter include?
When writing your cover letter, keep in mind this is the ideal opportunity to stand out to the employer. Emphasise your best skills that you think are important to the job role you’re applying for. You can make it more interesting by going into further detail here, expanding on information around your relevant skills and experiences.
Don’t forget to add your contact details onto the cover letter as well as on your CV, this will make it easier for the employer to contact you.
How to format a cover letter
Keeping the format simple and clear will be easier for the employer to read. Even though you want to stand out, don’t over complicate it!

PARAGRAPH 3 – Explain your skills you presented on your CV with more information.
Sincerely,

No more than half a page of A4. It shouldn’t be longer than your CV (one-page maximum).
Should I research the company beforehand and use some of their information?
Yes, if you can!
