Firmware and Software Engineer

Norfolk – 3 days a week

Salary - £65,000 - negotiable DOE

To continue with their mission, they are looking for an experienced and dynamic Firmware and Software Engineer to aid in the development of a niche product across different market sectors.

Responsibilities of the Firmware and Software Engineer

• Develop firmware and software aspects of the design for power systems, motors, and motor controllers
• Generate and maintain documentation related to the development of firmware and software and its testing
• Technical support to the Firmware Lead and Project Managers
• Interface with hardware design and development
• Develop and modify code to meet standards
• Promote continuous improvement
• Complete any other reasonable tasks identified by the Lead Firmware Engineer or Project Manager
• Ensure deliverables are met in accordance with the project plans, assessing resources required to complete work packages, communicating any problems or updates to leadership team

Experience and qualities of the Firmware and Software Engineer

• Experience in writing firmware for microcontrollers with cross compilers
• Experience in C and C++
• Knowledge of firmware and software debugging
• Familiarity with coding standards, such as MISRA and source control such as GIT

• Degree in an engineering related discipline or relevant experience
