My client has an exciting new opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will lead and manage procurement processes in the letting of contracts and frameworks. Ideally you will have experience with procuring services and onboarding external companies who can offer consultancy services to support specific projects.

If you have worked for a social enterprise previously this would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage and lead procurement processes across a broad range of categories, including, for example, in-house and client facing consultancy, website development, marketing collateral etc., and including the maintenance of all documentation from inception, advertisement, award, contracting and completion 
  • Provide specialist advice, guidance and support and training on best practice procurement across the group, ensuring a high standard of compliance, achieve value for money, the realisation of social value and inclusive and responsible procurement strategy 
  • Give specialist advice, guidance, support and training on best practice procurement to external organisations, ensuring a high standard of compliance, value for money, social value and inclusive and responsible procurement strategy 
  • Ensure that they adhere to and is compliant with UK Procurement legislation (where applicable), Procurement Policy, and the procurement related requirements of funders and commissioners with regard to procurement activity and due diligence processes 
  • Lead the company in the identification, assessment and management of potential risks associated with its procurement approach 
  • Co-ordinate a collaborative approach to procurement across the group to achieve cost efficient and 'joined up' approach to procurement thus ensuring maximum value from procured contracts 
  • Support the Group Procurement Manager with the development and implementation of Social Value initiatives and the embedding of a responsible and inclusive approach across the Group, collaborating with Social Value and Sustainability Leads 
  • Provide the Group Procurement Manager with the procurement strategy, policy and procedures and support the development of processes and procedures 
  • Develop and maintain relationships both internally with all colleagues and externally with suppliers to ensure the effective operation of the procurement function 


About you

  • Strong IT literacy especially Microsoft packages Skills Required 
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified, preferred but not mandatory. 
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with at least 5 years' relevant post-qualification experience (however, candidates with less than this number of years' experience, who can demonstrate the necessary skills, will be considered) 
  • Expert knowledge of UK public sector procurement regulations 
  • Practical working knowledge of a range of procurement categories 
  • Knowledge of financial, legal, and social value issues in relation to procurement. 
  • An understanding of UK contract law 
  • A public procurement specialist, with proven experience of leading public procurement tenders in a complex environment 
  • Experience of delivering procurement benefits, including social value through a collaborative and cohesive approach
