Job Description:

Step Teachers are currently looking for a History Teacher to work in a Secondary School in North Cornwall. This History Teacher role is full time and starting in April 2024 and is a full time position and includes planning and marking until the summer break. At the school's most recent Ofsted inspection they continued to be rated 'Good' by Ofsted and their ethos is to encourage all students to have high aspirations and flourish in the lives. 

Role of a History Teacher:

  • Good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 History curriculum
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
  • Maintain an organised and professional classroom with all of the associated resources
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these

History Teacher Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a History Teacher
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant History or Humanities related degree is desirable
  • SEND experience is desirable
