Job Description:

Orion Automation are working in partnership with a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced coating solutions as they are seeking a Project Manager to play a pivotal role in ongoing and future projects. You will spearhead the design, development, build, and installation of their complex special-purpose machinery.

£ 40,000 '' 60,000 p.a (DOE) + Annual Bonus + Project Bonus + Flexitime Holiday Allowance + 37.5 Hour week + Enhanced Pension Contributions + Annual Salary Review + Overtime paid @ 1.5 + Fantastic Training Development Plan + Wider benefits

The Project Manager will be involved in projects at all stages of their development, supporting in a variety of ways, including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management:
    • Plan, budget, oversee, and document all phases of specific projects.
    • Ensure adherence to quality procedures and timely project delivery.
  • Coordination of Equipment Assembly and Installation:
    • Oversee & coordinate design and specification of CVD equipment.
    • Oversee & coordinate procurement of components for CVD equipment.
    • Coordinate the assembly and installation of new equipment.
    • Very occasional travel to customer sites worldwide for equipment installation. (c. 2/3 weeks a year)
  • Quality Management:
    • Maintain alignment with the ISO9001 Quality Management Programme.
    • Lead the implementation of process enhancements in accordance with CE & UKAS standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Essential:
    • Biology, Chemistry or Physics to A Level or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 1-2 years project management experience.
    • Excellent knowledge of MsProject and best practises.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Ability to present technical information.
    • Experience with CE Marking of Machinery.
  •  Desirable:
    • Any further scientific or engineering qualification.
    • Knowledge of APM or Prince2.
    • Experience in either the high-tech, special purpose machinery or vacuum industry.
    • Familiarity with quality management methodologies and/or ISO9001 compliance to UKAS standards.
    • Knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor etc.)
