PROJECT MANUFACTURING ENGINEER 

Partnered with an ever-expanding automotive manufacture who are seeking an experienced Project Manufacturing Engineer to embed themselves into new and existing projects along side manufacturing demand, developing new manufacturing processes, and improving on existing process'.

As the Project Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Evaluating manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, testing, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labour, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

 

The appointed Project Manufacturing Engineer will have the following experience:

  • Previous proven experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of continuous improvement methods and lean techniques
  • Familiar with process techniques and documentation such as FMEAs, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Control Plans etc.
  • Strong hands-on experience with bespoke equipment, tooling, and automation
  • Good understanding of design for assembly and manufacturing constraints for high-volume manufacture (Ideally Aero/Automotive)
  • Confident with both internal and external customers and suppliers, able to detail requirements and understand issues
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
