Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Up to £50,993.64

Location: Jenkins Lane, Barking

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team at our site. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our engineering team, contributing to both internal and external maintenance work on our plant equipment. Our primary objective is to enhance machine reliability, availability, and capacity to manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities of this Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role:

- Undertaking planned preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules on plant assets such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and valves.
- Liaising with external contractors for reactive maintenance and scheduling planned service maintenance.
- Ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, including internal audits, GMP, COSHH, and ISO quality standards.
- Actively participating in projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and modern manufacturing principles.
- Collaborating with the SHEQ team to resolve health and safety, environmental, and quality issues.

Requirements of this Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role: 

- Hold a minimum CGLI or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in working with and applying isolations and isolation systems LOTOTO (Mechanical and Electrical).
- Knowledge of various mechanical drive arrangements, including simplex, duplex, chain, belt, gearboxes, and transmission equipment.
- Ability to replace shaft seals and bearings, pipework, fittings, and couplings.
- Previous experience in problem-solving and electrical fault diagnosis techniques.
- Confidence in handling valves, solenoids replacements, and basic pneumatics.
- Proficiency in reading schemes and drawings.
