Job Description:

An OFSTED-rated ‘Outstanding’ school in Merton are seeking a Teacher of Science to join them ASAP. This is a full-time role initially until the end of the academic year in July with the possibility to be extended further. Staff at the school have consistently high expectations of behaviour and pupils show excellent behaviour in and out of lessons.

You will inspire a love for science through engaging and hands-on lessons, cultivate critical thinking and inquiry skills in students, and explore the wonders of biology, chemistry, physics, and beyond.

The Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the science curriculum at the secondary level.
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources.
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the classroom and throughout the school.
  • As a Teacher of Science, you must have the ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback to help them to progress.
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons.
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching science at the secondary level.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their best.
  • As a Teacher of Science, you must have excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with young learners.
