Junior Buying Assistant


Job Description:

Junior Buying Assistant.


Buyer Hourly Rate: £15 - £19ph Outside IR35

Maternity cover contract role '' 3x months +


Orion is partnered with a well-established Steel Fabrication business located in Dunstable which is recruiting for a junior Buyer to assist with the running of the procurement side of the business.


Buyer responsibilities:

  • Ordering of consumables
  • Dealing with suppliers
  • Managing and sending quotes
  • All administrative duties
  • Managing BACS payments
  • Document control
  • Dealing with proforma's
  • Checking drawings to ensure that the full bill of materials is included.
  • Sending back unused or unwanted products
  • Arrange couriers as and when needed
  • Chasing credit notes
  • Stock management


Buyer Experience:

  • Ideally will have experience in either the construction, manufacturing or engineering industry
  • Strong administrative experience and skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Microsoft packages including word, excel etc..
  • SAGE Accounts
  • Stock management
  • Flexible and able to manage priorities, resolve problems, and escalate issues in a fast-paced environment.


Buyer Shifts: Monday - Friday 8:30 '' 16:30
