1:1 Teaching Assistant


Job Description:

Step Teachers are working closely with a "Good" Ofsted-rated Primary School in Enfield to find a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception student with ASD. This school is eager to find a 1:1 Teaching Assistant with extensive experience working with students with severe ASD, this is a full-time role to provide consistency for the student. 

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will:
  • Make a positive impact on your key student 
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivery of activities
  • Support the development of children’s language and communication skills
  • Encourage positive behaviour and provide pastoral support when required
  • Provide feedback to parents/carers' on their child's progress and achievements
To be considered for the 1:1 Teaching Assistant position you will have:
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant and/or Special Educational Needs qualification
  • Recent experience working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in a Primary School
  • Experience working with students with severe ASD
  • Familiarity with the mainstream EYFS and primary curriculum
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
