We’re working with a leading print solutions provider based in Sheffield as they seek an experienced HP Indigo Operator to join their production team. The business specialises in a wide range of printing services, from photo products and marketing materials through to packaging and mail.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in digital printing and a keen eye for detail. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about print technology and eager to work in a fast-paced environment amongst a multitude of state-of-the-art technologies.

The business work on a shift pattern so flexibility towards working shifts is required – these are a mixture of earlies, afternoons, and nights (8 hours per shift) typically Monday to Friday.

 

The Role

- Operate and maintain HP Indigo digital presses, ensuring optimal performance and print quality.
- Prepare and load print files, substrates, and inks according to job specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Monitor print jobs throughout the production process to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and manage workflow efficiently.
- Conduct quality control checks on printed materials, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards and protocols.

 

The Person

- Proven experience as a digital print operator within the print production industry.
- In-depth knowledge of HP Indigo presses and related software. (highly beneficial)
- Strong technical skills and the ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance.
- Computer literacy
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality prints.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Certification in HP Indigo operation / maintenance (HP Indigo Operator Level 1 or above)
- Familiarity with pre-press processes and colour management.
- Experience with variable data printing and personalized print jobs.

 

Salary & Benefits
A competitive salary is based on experience, with higher rates available for candidates who are experienced HP Indigo Operators with Level 1/2/3 operator qualifications.
