Hours: are - 7.30am to 5pm Monday – Friday (most days will work till 5.30pm)

Weybridge – 40-50k Basic (neg) , discretional bonus based on group, branch and individual performance, bonus, 25 days hols plus stats, benefits

THE COMPANY

Our client is a leading distributor of thermoplastic materials servicing the fabrication and signage marketplace. Owned by the global leader in the manufacture of acrylics, the distribution team is well placed to deliver excellence in supplying and supporting their customers. The company is expanding and has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse & Distribution Manager to join them at their Branch in Weybridge. THE ROLE

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Branch warehouse, cutting and distribution service.

You will manage a team of Warehouse operatives and drivers.

You will manage the Branch's conversion/production facilities.

You will be responsible for transport routing, putting together the most efficient daily routes for all the company's vehicles.

You will be responsible for managing tachographs and ensuring regulations and standards are adhered to.

You will manage and support an effective operational process, ensuring the integrity of customers’/suppliers’ stock and data input.

You will also ensure that all operational processes are complied with.

Whilst conducting your role you must demonstrate the ability to proactively improve and be able to implement changes effectively.

The role will ensure that all legislative and regulatory requirements are upheld and the highest standards of health and safety are maintained at all times.

Other Key Responsibilities include:

1.Manage, motivate and train staff according to company policies and employment laws, ensuring all relevant HR procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc).

2.Plan and manage the distribution of goods, being responsible for providing an “on time and in good condition” delivery service.

3.Plan and manage the cutting schedules to ensure materials are correctly cut and packed to the customer’s specifications.

4.Ensure all stock is correctly unloaded, checked and stored in the correct locations.

5.Report all stock discrepancies, damages and/or stock picking errors.

6.Attend and report at regular Branch Management and Sales Meetings.

7.Be responsible for all aspects of health and safety within the Warehouse environment.

8.Ensure that all vehicles are regularly maintained and all aspects of vehicle maintenance and operation conform to MOT and O Licence regulations.

9.Keep an equipment maintenance log and ensure that all equipment is regularly serviced and kept fully operational.

10.Be responsible for site security and act as a key holder when required

11.To carry out any other duties as requested.

THE CANDIDATE:

In order to be considered for this role, you will have previous experience within a warehouse or logistics environment, be able to work under pressure to strict KPI’s and cope with changing demands. You will have good spoken and written communication skills, a professional manner and be proficient with IT. You should be confident, tactful and possess a persuasive manner. You will also have the ability to proactively lead and motivate a team well as being able to work well under pressure. You will have introduced and ensured operational processes are adhered to.

You will have exceptional leadership and direction. The role is likely to be an even mixture of walking the floor and office management. You will have strong IT skills and be able to support that side of the business but also have a hands on approach and when necessary help on the warehouse floor.

You will also be responsible for optimising the layout of the warehouse. You will set a strong work ethic and encourage high energy levels as well as not being phased by having difficult conversations with operatives and drivers when necessary.

In addition to the above, you should possess the following key skills:

  • CPC Holder (ideal but not essential
  • FLT Licence (ideal but not essential)
  • Flexible approach.
  • Ideally be used to a fast paced industry and have had experience of working with a sales team with an appreciation that things can change quite quickly and adapt readily to new orders and demands placed on the business.
  • Experience of driving 7.5 + vehicles (ideal but not essential).
  • Man Management experience. A real people person who can manage and develop a rapport with their staff as well as gaining their respect.
