We are on the lookout for an insightful and experienced Digital Merchandiser to join a successful company with a great team and company culture, who offer flexible working and good benefits too.

Using your commercial eye, analytical approach and technical knowledge, you will ensure products are presented, categorised and communicated in the best possible way across their eCommerce platforms. You will create an engaging presence for their customers, whilst managing inventory, and ensuring all product listing are optimised to maximise sales and drive growth.

The successful candidate will have a background working within a similar eCommerce trading position, have excellent technical knowledge, and a genuine interest in consumer products and retail.

Duties & responsibilities will include:

  • Agree and implement merchandising strategy, ensuring all products are presented to customers in the best possible and most effective way to maximise sales and drive sell through
  • Establish best practice for on-site merchandising
  • Responsible for the creation, targeting and maintenance of rules, tag assignments and widgets within 3rd party software to achieve merchandising goals
  • Manage and maintain ‘pinned’ items within categories based on merchandising criteria and strategy
  • Accountable for accurately merchandising and categorising new and existing products within admin e.g. categories, primary categories, keywords, meta descriptions, tags
  • Analyse product and category performance on a continuous basis, taking into account: trends, occasions, sitewide visibility, overall sitewide metrics e.g. page views
  • Work with the Head of Performance and/or SEO agencies to ensure all pages are optimised for Google ranking.
  • Reporting to the wider team with analysis on general performance and making and implementing data-driven recommendations.
  • Ensure all new products appear in Google Shopping Feed.
  • Continuous analysis and improvement on YOY product sales performance, ensuring products are achieving the visibility they need on site to achieve sales growth.
  • Monitor stock levels and expiry dates and use this information to make alterations to product visibility where appropriate
  • Engage with global industry best practices and analyse competitors’ web content to provide recommendations on eCommerce trends and opportunities

Experience & skills required:

  • Experience within an eCommerce merchandising role with demonstrable trading success
  • Analytical approach and a commercial mindset, with a passion for product and a strong sense of brand value
  • Excellent working knowledge of Google Analytics, SEO & eCommerce trading
  • A good communicator and relationship builder, both internally & externally
  • Detail oriented, a natural problem solver, highly organised and an excellent multi-tasker
  • A proactive approach and a strong team player!
