Job Description:
MPI requires a Permanent Installation Engineer, for our client based in Malpas.
Salary to be discussed during interview
Travel to different sites is essential (company van provided)
Role:
- Management of construction sites, maintaining health & safety, quality, environmental impact & cost control.
- Carry out mechanical installation of equipment and fittings both onsite and workshop based.
- Responsible for safely undertaking installation work and supervising other mechanical fitters and multiple other trades.
- Ensuring that the project specifications and requirements are met.
- Working closely with the Installation Manager and Project Manager to review progress and monitor costs.
- Liaising with the customer site representatives, ensuring the site is operated in a safe manner whilst customer expectations are maintained or exceeded.
Assessing risks associated with installation work.
Responsibilities:
- Ambassadorial role representing the business and liaising with the client, other construction professionals and official bodies.
- Selecting appropriate tools and materials to complete tasks.
- Procure construction materials as necessary and liaise with project engineers/managers to ensure site has adequate resources to complete tasks.
- Completing job sheets and reporting.
- Maintaining quality and environmental control procedures.
- Make safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety.
- Carry out, supervise and oversee the site installation work.
- Carry out risk assessments and method statements.
- Promote teamworking.
- Overall responsibility of the construction site when acting as site manager.
Qualifications/ Experience
- Experience in producing, reviewing and implementing safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements and permits to work.
- Good knowledge of building methods and regulations.
- Using hand tools and other equipment.
- SMSTS (or minimum SSSTS)
- CSCS card
- Level 3 NVQ – or higher
- Engineering Based HNC or equivalent
- Desirable - Confined Space, First Aid, PASMA
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations.
