We are currently recruiting for an experienced administrator to provide admin and financial support in the Compliance & Risks Office at a prominent educational institution in Manchester City Centre.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide secretarial support for directorate meetings, including setting agendas, distributing papers, and taking minutes.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks: scheduling meetings, booking rooms and equipment, making travel arrangements, ordering office supplies, and coordinating equipment servicing.
  • Provide personal support for senior staff, including diary management, filing, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Maintain and update the Compliance & Risk website.
  • Manage and distribute Compliance & Risk materials.
  • Maintain financial accounts, process orders, and staff expenses using financial systems, including managing the Directorate purchasing card.
  • Input and extract data accurately in databases and government portals.
  • Manage filing systems and archives in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Serve as a point of contact for queries and emergencies.

An ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
  • Previous experience in an administrative role.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in interacting with staff at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of website maintenance.
  • Familiarity with maintaining financial records or ability to quickly learn financial procedures.
  • GCSE-level education in English and Maths (or equivalent).

Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience organising training or events.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials.
