Salary: Up to £79,000 + bonus + £6k car allowance or company car
Location: Flixborough and Fridaythorpe
Overview of this Operations Manager Position:
We are seeking a strategic Operations Manager to lead two key manufacturing sites at Flixborough and Fridaythorpe. With a team of 8 direct reports and 49 indirect, this role is essential in driving operational excellence and supporting the wider business growth plans. The ideal candidate will bring multi-site or large-scale facility management experience, with a strong understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes. Key Responsibilities of this Operations Manager Position:
- Provide strategic leadership across two sites, ensuring smooth operations, high performance, and safety standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (including 5S) to add value and enhance efficiency
- Oversee Profit & Loss, budget management, and capital expenditure projects across both sites
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure optimal performance, particularly at the Flixborough site, which serves as a key hub
- Work closely with senior leadership on strategic goals, including site upgrades and the development of new infrastructure (Supermill project)
- Lead and develop the team to foster high performance and engagement
- Manage customer relationships to ensure seamless service and profitable supply chain operations
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience managing large or multi-site manufacturing operations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to take a strategic, aerial view of operations
- Background in manufacturing, with an understanding of engineering processes
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Lean) and driving culture change
- Track record of managing budgets, P&L, and capital projects
- Ability to bring fresh ideas and work comfortably across multiple sites
- Strong communication and team leadership skills
Package:
- Salary range: Up to £79k (with flexibility depending on experience)
- 25% personal performance bonus (average payout)
- £6k car allowance or company car option
