Our client, a leader within Engineering, is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager with a strong focus on driving service and continuous improvement to join their dynamic team. This role will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring adherence to the highest levels of customer service and customs legislation, tariff codes, HMRC regulations, particularly related to import and export activities. What will you be spearheading as the Logistics Manager?
- Be responsible for driving operational excellence within the logistics team.
- Work with and negotiate the best rates with third party suppliers for logistics.
- Liaise with HMRC and other relevant authorities on compliance matters.
- Stay up-to-date with international trade legislation, ensuring that all processes align with current laws.
- Work closely with internal teams to optimise logistics operations while maintaining compliance.
- Conduct audits and implement improvements to reduce the risk of non-compliance.
- Provide expert advice on customs documentation, duty relief schemes, and trade facilitation.

What do you need to be able to demonstrate to be considered?
- Proven experience in logistics management with a strong compliance focus.
- In-depth knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of customs legislation, import/export regulations, and tariff codes.
- Experience dealing with HMRC and understanding of UK trade laws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal teams and external authorities.
- Strong proficiency in logistics management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools, including Power BI for reporting and insights
