Our client, a leader in the engineering and manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager. This role requires candidates with a solid background in engineering and manufacturing environments, with the ability to manage complex supply chains and procurement operations.

The Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager will be part of the senior team within the operations function, supporting global growth and expansion by ensuring the consistent quality and delivery of materials from an international supplier base, including Asia and the EU. The role involves overseeing a diverse range of products and technologies, from electrical to mechanical engineering.

What will you be doing as the Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager?

  • Oversee and manage the global supply chain, including on-site visits to appraise supplier manufacturing ability.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve the optimum cost per item, while ensuring supplier performance meets quality and delivery expectations.
  • Conduct a strategic review of the current supply chain to identify weaknesses and improve customer delivery.
  • Document and enhance supply chain processes, including workflows and responsibilities.
  • Analyze inventories to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service.

What do you need to demonstrate in order to be considered?

  • Extensive experience in purchasing and supply chain management within an engineering/manufacturing setting.
  • CIPS or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Strong knowledge of materials sourcing, procurement of technical parts, and supplier management in a manufacturing context.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, industrial engineering, or related industries would be highly desirable.

Please note: Candidates who only have experience in FMCG or food manufacturing will not be considered for this role due to the request of our client.
