Our client are a dynamically growing company in the Air Chartering business with a diverse fleet operating worldwide. Our client is an international company offering exposure to various markets and jurisdictions from around the world.
Our client is located located at Diamond Hangar Stansted Airport is looking for a Safety Manager to join their Safety and Compliance team reporting to the Accountable Manager.
Main Duties:
- To develop, establish and manage the Safety Management System
- To ensure that the Safety Management Manual, Hazard Log and Safety Key Performance Indicators are developed and maintained.
- To manage the Flight Data Monitoring programme.
- To develop and keep updated the Emergency Response Plan and procedures and to organise and participate in actual or practice emergency responses.
- To ensure initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence / accident investigations.
- To facilitate hazard identification, safety risk analysis and management.
- To administer safety related and fatigue risk surveys.
- To plan and facilitate staff safety training and that such training meets applicable standards.
- Acting as facilitator of the SRB and SAG meetings.
- Maintaining appropriate organisational aviation safety records and accident, incident, and aviation hazard statistics as required by the applicable operating regulations.
- Periodically updating the Accountable Manager with the status of the company’s SMS. This can be done through the distribution of SPI, trends, and regular safety meetings.
- Responsible for the upkeep and revision of the Safety Management Manual.
- To conduct Safety Management Audits scheduled by the teams Audit Plan.
- To act as Company representative (on behalf of the Accountable Manager) with Civil Aviation Authorities and other client organisations on matters of Safety, Audits, and Inspections.
Knowledge, skills and requirements:
- Management system principles training (including safety management, safety policy, human factors and compliance monitoring), MOE Training, Part 145 training.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Part 145 and any associated requirement and procedure.
- EU management system requirements and their application (including safety management systems and compliance monitoring)
- Demonstratable 12 months experience in Aerospace Safety Management Functions, preferrable in an EASA 145 environment.
- Holds an engineering degree, or holds or have held CPL or ATPL, or Flight Despatchers qualification, Part 66 licence or Recognised Aerospace Apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of a relevant sample of aircraft type(s) maintained within our clients Scope of Approval, demonstrated by training course or by an assessment performed by the competent authority.
- Has attended a recognised course in auditing techniques or be in possession of a recognised auditing qualification.
- knowledge in ICAO Annexes and other Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Knowledge in aviation regulations, in particular European Commission Regulations Implementing Rules and EASA AMCs and GMs.
- Knowledge of accident/incident/occurrence investigations and root cause analysis methodologies demonstrated by training course or by an assessment performed by the competent authority.
- Knowledge of hazard identification and risk management demonstrated by training course or by an assessment performed by the competent authority Knowledge of:
- Ability and confidence to communicate directly to the Accountable Manager as his advisor and confidante.
The Safety Manager’s qualifications and experience would be subject to the acceptance by EASA & UKCAA through the Resume & Form 4 Interview process.
