This is a dynamic and forward-thinking school committed to delivering high-quality education in STEM subjects. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Science Teacher to inspire students across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5, fostering curiosity and a passion for scientific exploration. This role begins March 2025.

Duties as a General Science Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics across KS3/KS4/KS5.
  • Develop students’ scientific knowledge, investigative skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Use practical experiments, demonstrations, and technology-enhanced learning to bring science to life.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
  • Maintain a safe and well-managed laboratory environment, following health and safety guidelines.
  • Foster a love for Science through extracurricular activities, such as Science clubs, STEM competitions, and trips.
  • Work collaboratively with the Science department to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.

Ideal General Science Teacher:

 

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching General Science at [KS3/KS4/KS5].
  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • A passionate and engaging teaching style that makes Science accessible and exciting.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to high expectations and raising student attainment.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate students to explore Science beyond the classroom as a General Science Teacher.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, working effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
