Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored learning strategies.
• Help adapt resources and materials to meet individual learning needs.
• Support the emotional, social, and behavioural development of students.
• Encourage independence and self-confidence in students.
• Assist with personal care and medical needs as required.
• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment.

Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Experience working with children, particularly those with additional needs.
• A patient, caring, and positive approach to supporting learning.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
• An understanding of different learning needs, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.
• A willingness to undertake professional development and training.
