Job Description:

We are seeking a caring and motivated Nursery Teaching Assistant to support the daily activities and learning experiences within their nursery. As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all children. Your role will involve assisting with play-based learning, supporting children's emotional and social development, and helping to create a positive early years experience. This role begins April 2025.

Duties as a Nursery Teaching Assistant:

 

  • Assist in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities that support children's development.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to encourage learning and social skills.

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and happiness of all children in the nursery setting.

  • Help set up and organise learning materials and play areas.

  • Support children with personal care needs, such as toileting and mealtime assistance.

  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members.

  •  

Ideal Nursery  Teaching Assistant:

  • A relevant childcare qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Early Years Education, CACHE, or equivalent).

  • Experience working in a nursery or early years setting (desirable but not essential).

  • A patient, caring, and nurturing approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework (desirable).
