Lead Engineer – Renewable Energy

Lincoln, Lincolnshire

Salary: £50,000 - £54,000

Full-time, permanent

 

About: Client operates anaerobic digestion facilities across the UK, handling food waste and generating renewable energy.

 

Role Overview: I am seeking a Lead Engineer to oversee the engineering team of a leading renewables energy company. Duties will include ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency in maintaining processing machinery, AD tank farms, and associated assets. The role includes equipment repair, maintenance scheduling, and process optimisation.

 

As Lead Engineer, the key responsibilities are:

  • Manage and develop the engineering team.
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, and performance optimisation.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and coordinate repairs.
  • Maintain stock levels of critical parts.
  • Supervise contractors and ensure safe work practices.
  • Deputise for the Plant Manager when needed.

Requirementsas Lead Engineer:

  • Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification with 2 years' experience.
  • Experience in anaerobic digestion, maintenance management systems, and team leadership.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and gas systems.
  • Familiarity with Safe Systems of Work, LOTO, PUWER, and LOLER.
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to work on call.
