Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive school community. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire pupils during a key stage in their primary education and contribute to a school that values creativity, collaboration and continuous improvement. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the Year 5 curriculum

  • Use a range of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform next steps

  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and EAL

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour through consistent and positive approaches

  • Support pupils in developing independence, resilience and a growth mindset

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing

  • Contribute to year group and whole-school planning, trips and enrichment activities

  • Uphold school policies and promote our values in and out of the classroom

  • Take part in CPD, staff meetings and performance development processes

Ideal Year 5 Teacher:

 

  • An experienced or aspiring Key Stage 2 teacher with a deep understanding of the curriculum

  • A confident practitioner who can challenge, support and inspire Year 5 learners

  • Someone with high expectations of behaviour, effort and achievement

  • A strong communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

  • A team player who contributes to the wider life of the school as a Year 5 Teacher.
