Senior Mechanical Designer – Industrial Printing Machinery

Location: Barcelona, Spain (on-site)
Salary: €30,000 – €34,000 package
Start Date: Immediate

An established and internationally recognised manufacturer of high-precision industrial machinery is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join its Engineering Department in Barcelona. Known for its innovation, quality, and reliability in the printing and packaging sector, the company has delivered over 1,700 installations across more than 70 countries.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you’ll play a key role in the full design lifecycle of complex rotary printing machinery. You’ll be responsible for producing detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation, collaborating across departments, and ensuring high-quality, functional designs that meet the company’s standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical design and development of rotary printing machines.
  • Creation and preparation of manufacturing orders.
  • Collaboration with internal departments, including Sales, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
  • Development of operation manuals and spare parts documentation.
  • Support for ongoing process improvement and product innovation.

About You

This role is ideal for a technically skilled and proactive individual with a strong background in machinery design and 3D CAD systems.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualification: Higher Vocational Training in Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 6–10 years of experience designing industrial machinery, including assemblies with machined and sheet metal parts.
  • Expert-level experience using Creo Parametric (essential).
  • Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems, GD&T, and BOM structures.
  • Additional knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or SolidWorks is desirable.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Languages: Spanish (or Catalan) and English at B2 level.
  • Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance to the site; this is an on-site role (remote work is not offered).
