SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp to perm position starting February 2026We are seeking a compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school environment.   • Support a small class of pupils with SEMH needs, working closely with the class teacher
  • Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
  • Help manage behaviour and promote emotional regulation strategies
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
  • Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Support pupils during transitions, break times, and off-site activities
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • Understanding of behaviour management and emotional support strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting pupils
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
