ReeVR has partnered with an innovative and fast-growing engineering business that specialises in the design and manufacture of advanced robotic and automation systems. They are committed to delivering high-performance, practical automation solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency across multiple industries.

Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing processes, with excellent SolidWorks skills. Experience within robotics, automation, or special-purpose machinery would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for robotic and automation systems using SolidWorks.

  • Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

  • Work collaboratively with electrical and software engineers to ensure seamless system integration.

  • Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and tolerance analyses.

  • Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.

  • Optimise designs for cost, manufacturability, and performance.

  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and drawings.

  • Provide technical input to improve and refine existing systems.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally within robotics, automation, or industrial machinery.

  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (assemblies, detailing, and simulation).

  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, gears, and motion components.

  • Experience with materials selection and manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, 3D printing).

  • Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, and design validation principles.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with PDM systems.

  • Familiarity with robotic arms, conveyors, or custom automation equipment.

  • Understanding of pneumatic or electro-mechanical actuation.

  • Awareness of relevant safety and compliance standards (ISO, CE, RIA).
