• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
• Assist in the implementation of individual behaviour and learning plans
• Work closely with teaching staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment
• Support pupils in managing emotional regulation and social interactions
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to the SENCO and wider team
• Promote inclusion and encourage positive relationships within the school community

Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant:

• Holds a relevant teaching assistant and SEND qualification
• Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
• Demonstrates strong behaviour management and interpersonal skills
• Is confident supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups
• Shows empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to challenges
• Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
