SEMH Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temp to perm starting as soon as possibleThis specialist provision offers a supportive and structured environment for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Staff are committed to building strong relationships and promoting positive behaviour through consistent routines and therapeutic approaches. Leaders prioritise staff development and ensure that behaviour support strategies are embedded across the school. Pupils benefit from a nurturing setting that encourages personal growth and academic progress.Duties as SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Implement behaviour strategies and individual support plans
- Use Team Teach techniques to manage challenging behaviour safely and effectively
- Support pupils in managing emotional regulation and social interactions
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and reports
- Promote inclusion and encourage positive relationships within the school community
- Holds relevant qualifications or experience in SEMH support
- Has valid Team Teach behaviour management training
- Demonstrates strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Is confident supporting pupils both 1:1 and in small groups
- Shows empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to challenges
- Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
