SEND Teaching Assistant – Full-time, long-term temporary from as soon as possibleThis specialist primary school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils with severe learning disabilities and complex needs are supported to thrive. Leaders prioritise staff training and ensure that support staff are equipped to meet the diverse needs of learners. Pupils benefit from a structured and caring setting that promotes independence and emotional well-being.Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with severe learning disabilities and complex needs
- Assist in the implementation of individual education and care plans
- Support pupils with physical, sensory, and communication needs
- Work closely with teaching staff and therapists to create a safe and engaging learning environment
- Use specialist resources and strategies to promote pupil development
- Monitor progress and contribute to reviews and reports
- Promote inclusion and encourage positive relationships within the school community
- Holds relevant qualifications or experience in SEND support
- Has experience working with pupils with severe learning disabilities and complex needs
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is confident supporting pupils with physical and sensory needs
- Shows empathy, patience, and a proactive approach to challenges
- Has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
